This YouTube channel features almost exclusively AI-generated thumbnails depicting New York City overrun by gangs and rioters, evoking scenes reminiscent of The Walking Dead.

However, it was started off as a open-house channel five years ago by Cash Jordan, a Manhattan-based real estate agent.

As most in-person showings were on pause during the height of the pandemic, Jordan used the channel as an alternative way to showcase properties in New York City.

But now, his channel has morphed to exclusively amplyfing misleading content about how migrants and homeless people are decimiating the city.

Since the pviot, he has doubled his following to more than 1.2 million, surpassing most local TV stations on YouTube, one of the most important sources for news in the US.

“Fundamentally, this is all about the algorithm,” said one expert on online misinformation.
